Virginia Virtual Academy invites all families and friends worldwide to join the celebration. VAVA’s students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a host of electives and attend live virtual classes taught by state-certified teachers. Prior to the pandemic, students enrolled in virtual school for a number of reasons-some were looking to escape bullying, some may have fallen academically off track, and others were looking for an alternative to the traditional classroom setting. Virginia Virtual Academy’s graduates have crossed the finish line of graduation and are prepared for their next adventure in life. Christopher Peterson will speak on behalf of the school faculty and the student speaker is Khanysha Anderson. There will be three speakers at the graduation ceremony including Su Garcia, principal of VAVA. Both students were awarded a $4,000 scholarship to play on RMU esports team because of their technical ability, coachable mentality, and potential. Two VAVA students, Ayden Price and Landon Stewart, will be continuing their education at Robert Morris University on an esports scholarship. Collectively, the Class of 2023 reports having been awarded nearly $186,795 worth of college scholarships. Many students are also headed straight into the workforce or continue at positions that they have held throughout high school. "We’re so happy to celebrate their accomplishments and look forward to seeing what they do next."Ĭollectively, the class of 2023 – which includes more than 230 and approximately 96 students who will graduate with a cumulative GPA above 3.5 – reports it has been accepted to trade schools, colleges, and universities across the country as well as several branches of the military. From academic to sports, VAVA students are constantly exceeding expectations" said Kenneth Moles, Executive Director at VAVA. "Over the years, Virginia Virtual Academy students have thrived in every challenge they faced. The virtual ceremony will take place on June 3 at 2PM. VAVA will celebrate its graduates in person with a commencement ceremony on June 4 at 2PM. STAUNTON, Va., June 02, 2023-( BUSINESS WIRE)-The students of Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA), an online public school serving K-12 grade students throughout the state, will soon move forward to begin the rest of their lives.

I have loaded subsonic rounds and they are really quiet in an AR-platform rifle, but they have some downsides, the major one being they will not work the action at subsonic speeds. 223 was designed with the intention to move a small bullet fast. Chronograph indicated when a load had unacceptable reading velocities, which varied over 100 fps from shot-to-shot of a specific load. 223, as there are other excellent calibers that were designed to be used with subsonic ammo. 22 Long Rifle like we can our larger calibers, but we can reload for subsonic results. I use these in semi-auto guns on my trapline because they don’t pass through the animal creating an exit wound, but I have to manually run the action. As velocity and pressure decrease, so does the ability to run the action. I tried some Remington Subsonic ammo, which is really quiet, but it sometimes does not run the semi-auto. 22 rifles and pistols for long rifle loads. As the velocity is Standard, it functions-at least theoretically-in all. It is very accurate and works the Ruger 10-22 semi-auto action. Remington High Velocity runs around 1,280. 22 Long Rifle runs out at about 1,200+ fps. 22 is the most popular because it can be used to eliminate pests (non-human) in a suburban environment without causing a stir. Suppressed pistols are much quieter than rifles because most of them are already traveling subsonic and the. Subsonic rounds performed well in the bolt gun, but high-velocity rounds were adequate in the sound department without all the challenges of subsonic. If the bullet exceeds this speed, there will be a crack. The magic speed is just under 1,100 feet-per-second (fps). One reason the sound is not completely suppressed-especially in rifles-is the sonic “crack” that is heard as the bullet breaks the sound barrier. Subsonic ammo quiets the weapon even more, but at the cost of other benefits. Silencers don’t exist in the real world, only in the movies. They don’t silence the bang to an undetectable level, so silencer is an incorrect term. Truth be told, suppressors do just that, suppress the fast-moving gasses that cause the bang when the gun is fired. I know-they were put there to keep bloodthirsty assassins from committing horrible murders undetected, and it has done much to keep these crimes in Hollywood movies and not on our streets. In my opinion, they never should have been put on that list to begin with. They are so popular a push has begun to take them off the NFA list of regulated weapons. Suppressors have become extremely popular, and more folks are reaping the benefits of suppressed shooting. It was a mammoth event, really, in the U.K. What were your thoughts about Queen Elizabeth’s passing? It was obligatory that he’d be on one show, at least.īack in March you received on OBE. I think he’s one of the best guitar players around, and a great musician. It’s always great to have Brian on stage. He obviously expects, and he should expect, to be asked to come and be a guest on the London show. Obviously, Brian and I, we’re in contact all the time. How did Brian wind up playing at your London show and appearing on the album? I thought it was quite funny, and there was an element of truth in there as well. And I remember - I don’t think Brian did take the song seriously he felt like, “really, how can anybody be in love with a car?” But he’s not very car-minded. You make a crack before “I’m in Love With My Car,” which you wrote, about its portrayal in the Bohemian Rhapsody film. I’ve sung “The Show Must Go” on occasion, but it’s difficult. I’d never think of singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” or even “We Are the Champions.” You need sort of a more diva-ish singer to put those songs across. I think people like to hear songs they know - the old saying, “Play the hits!” So it’s nice to have the hits to sprinkle in amongst some not-quite-so-well-known songs. I have “Radio Ga Ga,” “These Are the Days of Our Lives.” These are songs which have been sort of hits, so people knew them. How did you choose which Queen songs were appropriate for you to perform? Or like Freddie - you never knew what he was going to turn up in from one day to the next. I always like dressing up a little bit, but not quite to that extent. (laughs) No! I looked forward to every show, and hopefully that comes over on this recording.Īre you naturally comfortable as a frontman? And I have such a great band, it was a joy. It was a smaller, intimate tour, and I just enjoyed being there, at the front again, which I hadn’t done in a long time. It’s not a big, ambitious stadium thing or anything like that. Obviously I’m not the best judge, but the whole tour was really conceived to be fun. Well, I hope it is fun to listen to the album. It certainly sounds like Taylor is having a good time of it, which - age aside - makes us take any comment about the end being nigh with a grain of salt.ĭid you have as good of a time on the solo tour as it sounds like on the live album? 30, features 22 tracks from various locations on the 2021 tour, including Outsider material as well as Queen favorites and other covers, such as Led Zeppelin’s “ Rock and Roll,” David Bowie’s “Heroes” and Little Richard’s “Tutti Frutti,” with May making a guest appearance on the lattermost, as well as Queen’s “A Kind of Magic.” He helped pen some of the band’s biggest hits, co-writing UK number ones Under Pressure, These Are The Days Of Our Lives and Innuendo. The Outsider Tour Live, out Sept.
